The summer of 2011...

There is a really good reason why this blog has been silent for several weeks. The reason is that we have been busy making the most of every moment of this summer! As some of you may know, starting at the end of June, we had four sets of out-of-town company at our place. Just a few days a go we finally go rid of the last of them - just kidding D&J! You know we loved having you!

The great thing about having so much company is that you are forced to find things to do around home that will be fun for everyone and interesting to your guests. Everyone is on a travel budget so these things also have to be cost effective. This made us branch out a bit and do a lot of local things that really ended up to be really great. The cool thing is that living in KW you're kind of close enough to TO to enjoy it but without having to live in the traffic. Plus, KW itself is no slouch when it comes to attractions.

There are some very beautiful photos of our summer adventures (so far). As usual, Rob has them safely tucked away on a hard drive somewhere and someday soon we might even get to see them! LOL! But even without the images our summer has included: Niagara Falls, multiple trips to St. Jacobs, U2 Concert, African Lion Safari, Jully Black concert, soccer camp, a trip to Haiti that wasn't and more.

Some of you have been asking us about the status of having Betty come to live with us and for now, we're just in a holding pattern, waiting for our lawyer to work on our behalf. So slow. That's all I can say. No news to report we just keep seeking God's will for the situation and believing that He has a plan.

Last night we took advantage of a cool KW thing - free movie in the park. We got there late, just before the show, so the seating wasn't ideal but the kids still thought it was pretty darn cool. Next year we've already decided to get there early, enjoy the entertainment and have a wicked seat!

For my own chronicling purposes, I will have to get those photos on here someday. But for now... a few shots that I took on our point and shoot last night. What a summer! Fabulous weather and fabulous people!
